The Feast of Booths

Booth is the 590th most popular surname in the US! It's no Smith or Jones, but it's still fairly common. You would think people have heard it enough that hostesses would not get confused at a restaurant when you say your name is "Booth" and they wonder if a table will be okay or if you insist on a booth.

mine is #45 but my mom's maiden name is 18,199th, so averaged im #9,122.

merely saying "booth" could be confusing. speaking as a restaurant veteran, someone saying only the word "booth" even after being asked what their name was, i could see how it might be perceived that the person was requesting a booth.

My last name is the 35th most popular and my maiden name the 3rd...but MY mother's maiden name is the 23,052 most popular...that's RARE! C'mon, who can beat that?

My last name is the 7,278th most popular surname. I'm proud of that...I've got a fairly uncommon name.

What's even cooler is that the surnames of my two best friends (Schwegler and Rossol) don't even show up in that database. I envy them their names.

Not only that, but I just realized that the three of us (my two best friends and myself) have very German surnames. We master-racers hang together...*wink*
