You should go take this quiz on US geography. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a little picture to post on the blog or a witty rating system, but I got a 143...but seriously: who really needs to know where Delaware is anyway? I was in the vicinity!
Posted by christin at June 25, 2003 10:56 AM | TrackBacki got a 148. That's good, b/c I'm teaching elementary school in two months!
Posted by: kristen at June 25, 2003 11:20 AMOh my gosh. I'm too ashamed to post my score, but lets say, I probably shouldn't wander to far from the south or I'm in big trouble.
Posted by: Shannon at June 25, 2003 01:16 PMI got a 144, but only 'cause I clicked too quickly between Wisconsin and Minnesota :( That isn't all that good since I was a Social Studies Ed major in college. (I did miss several more on the first guess, but really is there a difference between Kansas and Nebraska? Vermont and NH?) [sigh]

Posted by: jon amos at June 25, 2003 09:06 PMHey, watch it...! :) I grew up right next to Delaware. I'm fine all the way west to Oklahoma, then they all start looking the same until I get to Nevada.
Posted by: Sarah at June 26, 2003 12:05 AMI got a perfect score, but they sure make it tricky to click on Rhode Island.
Posted by: Sweet Fancy Moses at June 26, 2003 12:08 AMI took the quiz about 8 times trying to get a perfect score, and in NONE of those tries could I manage to find the state of Oklahoma.
And I was the State Geography Bee representative for Mississippi. I'm so ashamed.
Posted by: Micah at June 26, 2003 09:22 AMIf you were more than 14% geek, you could have found Oklahoma. (Hint: It's just north of Texas.)
Posted by: Christin at June 26, 2003 09:45 AMDoes anyone else get Illinois, Indiana and Ohio mixed up or is it just me? I still made a 133 though.
Posted by: JeniLiz at June 26, 2003 11:14 AMi don't get them mixed up jen...then again, i'm from indiana...
Posted by: Uncle Josh at June 26, 2003 11:37 AMperfect score for me, but iowa for some reason wants to be ohio in my mind. try the africa quiz, i got a 114 there.
Posted by: dp at June 26, 2003 04:36 PMI started to do the Africa one, but I gave up after the first one. I'm clueless when it comes to Africa. I did really well on Canada though.
Posted by: Christin at June 26, 2003 04:39 PMI clicked around on Africa a couple days ago and got about 50. I just did it again and got 79. I figure if I keep doing it....
Posted by: jon amos at June 27, 2003 12:04 PMYou wouldn't get Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana mixed up if you had to make the mind-numbing, butt-numbing, endless drive through them to get somewhere. That drive from St. Louis to Columbus JUST NEVER ENDS!
Duane and I look at a map once in a while and put stars in every state we've been to. If we've both been there, we put two stars, and then he initials it if it was just one of us that visited.
A lot of people down here (and in the midwest) have no clue how to get the East Coast, and usually don't get many until they are to the Mississippi. Since I grew up driving up and down the East Coast, it's pretty easy for me. I can't get the western states - Utah, Colorado - they all look the same to me.
