Posted by: Jeannette at June 19, 2003 11:08 AMYes! Details on the bar fight! Do tell!
Posted by: SonofThunder at June 19, 2003 01:54 PMI was there for that bar fight. We were at the Garden Lounge in Moscow on Blue Monday, I think. Basically there were a few young college punks - we'll call them "the blowhards" - looking to pick a fight with anybody in the room. At one point, they were sitting directly across from us (namely, Jeremy, Christin, Josh, Deacon, Sarah Nass, and Hollie & I...am I forgetting to implicate anyone else?). So they start pointing, and making fun - at one point saying Remy looked like Bill Gates, etc. Eventually Christin and the blowhards exchanged a few words; unfortunately I don't remember their exact words, other than one blowhard saying, "I've never hit a girl before." In the end, Christin said some quick, clever something, leaving the blowhards silenced - but simmering.
And then things died down...until the blowhards succeeded in picking a real fight with some other folks in the room: we're talking a pretty serious fight just five feet from us. The blowhards started giving a girl a hard time, but the girl was with some football players, who put the blowhards in their places. Then all the guys ran off and/or carried their fight outside, the cops came, and we all lived happily ever after.
Posted by: jon amos at June 20, 2003 12:17 AMYeah, it sounds a little more exciting when I just say "I started a bar fight." Actually, what I said to them initially was "if you guys want to fight, let me know."
I'm still not sure why I said that.
Posted by: Christin at June 20, 2003 08:04 AMOkay, Jeannette, here's one to replace #27:
I prefer to shop by myself.
Posted by: Christin at June 20, 2003 08:26 AMall i know is that sarah and i were quietly talking, and all of a sudden, we see a guy maybe a little bigger than me literally come flying across my viewpoint...a football player who was 275 pounds if he was an ounce obviously had done what he does best...beat the guy senseless. it was pretty exciting christin, don't sell yourself short. that was a fun night:)
Posted by: Uncle Josh at June 20, 2003 08:42 AMChristin, you did the right thing protecting Remy from those mean bullies. Take that, you 'blowhards'!
