TGIF

Office space lingo is so weird. The most popular topic's in my office is the weather, what's for lunch, and how many days until friday. I find all of these topics pretty boring. I would much rather have a meaninful conversation with one of the attorney's or secretaries about their childhood or how they feel about their marriage. Is this how most offices are? The contrast of conversations in a law firm and working in a restaurant couldn't be more different. I always have such a hard time changing gears from my day job at the firm and working one night a week at the restaurant. When I walk into Lucciano's I don't have to ask what is going on in anyone's life. I know just by being there. At times this has been overwhelming and even frustrating, but I prefer that over meaningless conversations about what the special's for lunch are at Steamboat sandwich shop. I have made break through's with a few folks. And I am very excited about this. There is only one woman (that I know of) that hates me. I have been having bad dreams about her three times a week. Anyway, Can anyone out there relate to this?

In other news... Our house buisness is moving right along. We are supposed to close sometime at the end of September. Lang and I have a lot of paper work to do... More later.

I can definitely relate, Char. It seems it is the way of offices everywhere. In mine, at least, I think people are so conscious of avoiding controversial topics that conversation devolves to "safe" areas like TV, movies, weather, etc. The danger of offense is thereby avoided, but so are opportunities for real relationships.

Hey, ya'll should come down to see us sometime.
