The US handed power back to the Iraqi's today, two days before the scheduled deadline. I'm sure that people are going to say that this was a political move, but politics or not, given the situation in Iraq, I believe that the best way to get some sort of stability in the country is to hand over power as soon as possible and to start letting the Iraqis run their own country. However, it's not going to change anything, and cound get worse, if it appears to the Iraqi people that their new government is just a US puppet government, so the US needs to back off and let the new government really run the show.
