My brother is in a country which shall remain unnamed, but where people occasionally eat dogs. My mom asked him whether, if the opportunity presented itself and someone offered him dog, he would eat it so as to avoid being culturally offensive. His response was that he would try dog, and not because of any cultural sensitivity issues, but because he wants to "discover what that species is good for besides sniffing bombs and rescuing mountain climbers."
In case you haven't figured out, he doesn't exactly like dogs.
