Decapitation is okay, but don't you dare mess with Santa

Apparently, some folks at Disney weren't too happy about Miramax making Bad Santa. I'm not sure what the big deal is, since Miramax is the studio behind the ultra violent movie Kill Bill, which pushed the envelope of the R-rating, along with plenty of other films that don't exactly fit with the Disney image. Beheadings and limbs being cut off with blood spurting everywhere is fine, but portray a drunken con man posing as a mall santa, well, that's just too much. I guess we now know the one thing that mainstream Hollywood doesn't want to touch--Santa Claus.

Yeah, I heard about this, too. So, the next thing I knew, they were running "Adults only" advertisements for *Bad Santa*. Meaning, they actually went out of their way to say that the film was for "adults only". I guess since Santa is the main character, they wanted to cover their bases with people bringing kids to see it by accident. But this reminds me of one of my biggest pet peeves ever: Parents bringing small children to R Rated movies when it is obvious that they shouldn't be there! I CANNOT stand this! I seriously almost asked a parent recently why they thought their kid should be at *Gothika* when it scared the crap out of me and I'm 26 years old! (Not that great of a movie, btw).

What?? Is this you admitting that Kill Bill was an awful movie? I never thought I'd see the day! :-)

No, that's not me saying that Kill Bill is an awful movie. It's me saying that it's pretty silly that Disney had a fit about what Bad Santa would do to their image when Kill Bill doesn't exactly fit with the Disney image either.
