Drat, now I'm going to have to root for the Marlins

I don't even like baseball, but when the post-season rolls around, I feel compelled to watch. I had been rooting for the Cubs, primarily because I was hoping for the two cursed teams to make it to the World Series--it would have made for a pretty interesting side show.

But, with the cursed series no longer a possibility, since I don't like the Yankees, and since I don't think that a team that finishes out their season with two straight losses to the Devil Rays, of all teams, deserves to win, no matter who wins the game tonight, I'll still root for the Marlins. If nothing else, it would be kind of wacky for the team that has only had two winning seasons in it's history to win the World Series in both of those seasons. But, if the current ownership pulls what Wayne "the abomination of desolation" Huizenga did to the team, then well, here's me putting a preemptive curse on the Marlins that they will never have another winning season if the ownership starts selling off all the good players.

I'm still heartbroken from last night... and I, too, don't even care about baseball unless it's the postseason. Gonna have to pull for the BoSox to win against the Yanks now. C'mon underdogs!

The Sox are awesome; a bunch of scrappers with terrible attitudes who find a way to beat the clean-cut preps from the Bronx. As a scrapper with a terrible attitude, I must root for these boys. If the Yanks win, of course, the Marlins must be supported.

go fish!
growing up in south florida, conine was my favorite player back in '92 and beyond. I lost track during college, but the comeback kids have won us back. they've been playing playoff baseball for a couple months now.

you just KNEW that the cubs would leave the door open. and I don't see the fundamentals, speed and clutch hitting in the AL teams yet. if the fish pitching holds up, watch out world.
