Posted by: McKormick Astley at October 16, 2003 10:18 AMI was thinking of the eastern and western around the 4th or 5th century over Trinitarian stuff among others. That is the earliest institutional split I can think of.

Posted by: Carlton Brown at October 26, 2003 07:09 AMI like the Paul & Barnabas answer but the true answer is NEVER. The true "CHURCH" has never split. The Church is the beautiful bride of Christ coming together in unity until that perfect day. We need to see the way God sees and not man. Christ loved the Church and died for her. Through him she(like us)is without spot or blemish.
