What a girl!

Ron is way too modest about his beautiful little girl. She is an amazing creation. I cannot wait to watch her grow up.

On an funnier note - I have a relative that today takes the cake (at least to me) of bordering on total craziness. This relative was talking about massage therapy and a woman that he/she knew that was bruised and had kidney failure because of a "massage." So this relative is not going to have a massage. What about the obvious - maybe abuse at home? What about that ol excuse - "I hit the doorknob" or "I tripped and fell." If that is true about that massage actually causing those problems then the massage therapist that gave the rub down definitely puts an interesting slant to the infamous R.D. Mecer's "How bigga boy are ya'?" Apparently big enough to mess up some kidneys. I still though don't know what is crazier - that story or believing it.

This blog stuff is great. Growing up and in college I wrote profusely and that kinda peetered out when I graduated from college ( I still wrote in a prayer journal.) Now with this blog, not only am I writing online but I am starting to write in my journal again. I hope to develop and sharpen my skills as journey into the world of blogging. So no matter what anyone says about the NET being "BAD,BAD,BAD" - it has had a quite positive effect in my life.

Some interesting reads:

Bowling Alone by Robert D. Putnam
I have a friend who is reading this and highly recommends it. I hope to read it soon.
North Towards Home by Willie Morris
This is a great book - I have been reading a little at a time since a friend that I worked with gave me her copy. I have since bought my own. Great book about what makes life so special - little things.
Renovation of the Heart: Putting on the Character of Christ by Dallas Willard.
Me and some guys are reading this for a study. It is one of the best books that I have read about growing in Christ and how to make devotion and piety burn in your heart. I need more and more of that.

I wrote my college senior thesis on Bowling Alone. Terrific book. You should be sure to check out Putnam's follow-up essay, "Bowling Together," which appeared in the Princeton Review in 2002.
