Grr.
Here I am, on hold with our car insurance company about a claim that we filed about a month ago. Apparently, our company has not contacted the other party, and they called me today to ask what the hold-up was. It must be standard procedure to put callers on hold for the first 25 minutes in hopes that they’ll just give up and not pursue the claim. But I perservered, and finally got through, only to have the lady tell me she sees no activity on the claim and she doesn’t know why. I go back on hold, and then I’m told I’ll be connected to the adjuster. Who isn’t there, naturally. So, I get the voice mail, and it instills no confidence in me that her name is Jamie McFail.
Sigh. I’m sure this is going to be loads of fun.
Sounds like the same manual Great Benefit used in "The Rainmaker". You go girl.

I always thought that when you were on the phone with a company like that (Bellsouth for instance), a good book would make the time go by. But it's hard to concentrate with that irritating musack in your ear.
