Flex Those Lyrical Muscles

Okay, without cheating, can anyone tell me what show had the following theme music:

Some people stand in darkness
Afraid to step into the light.
Some people need to help somebody
When the edge of surrender is in sight.
Don't you worry, it's going to be all
right.

'Cause I'm always there,
I won't let you out of my sight.
I'll be there--never you fear
I'll be there--forever and always
I'm always here.

Okay, I know I am going to regret this, but is it Baywatch?

Congratulations,Amy. You've just revealed yourself as an aficionado of Baywatch. Just teasing. Guess I'll have to make those a bit harder.

I must admit that I began watching Baywatch way back when they still had a flat-chested female life guard. Ah, the good old days.

What was that girls name? Oh yeah, 'who cares'.

I watched that show a couple weeks ago and the song hasn't left me since! I can't get it out of my head! People think I'm insane for knowing the words to the 'Baywatch' theme song.

Does anyone know who sang the original Baywatch song? It was a man who sang it but I wonder who?
