Okay, Muggles. I've been busy reading "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" - I finally gave in and checked it out from the library. I felt a bit silly, seeing as it was in the Juvenile Section and the librarian gave me that little knowing smile.
My thoughts so far: Magic is awesome and Malfoy is a punk.

Posted by: JosiahQ at August 4, 2003 02:28 PMChecking out Harry Potter is alot less embarrassing than checking out Baby-Sitters Club books.
When in these delicate situations, I usually casually drop the phrase "elementary education" or "child psychology major" to justify my selection.
Posted by: Micah at August 4, 2003 02:48 PMI finished Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban yesterday and promptly started book 4. There's nothing to be ashamed of.
And if you think Malfoy is evil, wait until you get better acquainted with Professor Snape...he's just downright mean.
I should really check these books out. I notice especially when I am reading random blogs, there are MANY Harry Potter Enthusiasts out there. And do you know that I checked out the whole Anne of Green Gables series out quite recently....and I was not ashamed.

Posted by: Shannon at August 4, 2003 05:41 PMUPDATE: All done, and I was surprised how accurate the first movie was in comparison! Now I want to rent it again. I like saying "Hermoine" in my mind as I read it.
