Unfortunately, yesterday wasn't quite as productive a day as I'd have otherwise wished it to be. I was extremely lethargic and found it difficult to find the inner motivation to really attack this apartment. Even though I got everything ready and just needed to get started, I did not get Delaina's crib put together last night as I'd intended. So when I woke up this morning, I had to put together Delaina's crib, the girls' book-/toyshelves and the futon. I feared that not having the instructions on how to put the futon together would result in a project that would take more than an hour as I tried to figure it out. And there were still a few things that needed to go downstairs.
Oh, and I needed to revise my logic syllabus since--as I have kept forgetting--my summer logic class begins this evening.
But it has been a pretty productive morning thus far. I'm quite pleased. The crib and shelves are up, the futon is fully functional again--and my syllabus is revised and ready to print and copy.
I need to pay and mail some bills, take a few odds and ends down to storage, buy a chain for the toilet thingy so the toilet will flush properly, and get my laundry fully caught up. Taking time out to ride the bus to and from class is going to take a chunk out of my late afternoon and evening, but I still have a couple of hours to make solid headway.
Other than organizing the space and boxes a little better--especially getting the girls' room more play and sleep ready--there really isn't much left for me to do. I'm not about to start setting the place up without Anna being here to say "Move this here" and "Hang that there." In fact, I'd planned on going ahead and moving most of my books down to storage, but decided to wait to see what Anna wanted to do with the various bookshelves. I imagine I'll still be putting a goodly portion in storage, but I won't know for sure how many till I know what Anna's going to do.
So my prep work to get the place ready to move in is just about done. When the girls all get back from Oklahoma the unpacking phase will begin. That's when Anna can take over. And given all that I've had to be responsible for these past two months, boy am I ready to hand over the reins. I've got my "Yes, ma'am's!" ready and rarin' to go. Hang that over there? "Yes, ma'am!" Put that over here? "Yes, ma'am!"
See?
