Still sick and yucky, though the family and I did manage to get to Vespers last night. We stayed home this morning. I need to get well. Unfortunately I still don't feel all that much better.
But the White Sox won Game 1 last night. We saw the last third of it after Vespers. We came in with the game at 4-3, Sox. We saw Contreras start to slide, striking two batters and sending them to base. Then we saw Cotts come in and finish off two hitters. Then the big guy, Jenks came in and threw some heat. Hundred mile an hour pitches one right after the other. Sheesh. But he's got some body mass to get behind those pitches. Great way to end the game though with Jenk's K's.
Then there's my beloved Steelers. Took on Cincy, who lead the AFC North. I had to watch the game online at the NFL.com GameCenter live stats page. Not quite like watching it on T.V. Still, Big Ben's back, and then some. Buh-bye Bengals. Final score: 27-13.
This sort of thing makes a weekend spent mostly in pajamas and eating hot cereal and soup bearable.
Here's hoping the Sox make it 2-0 tonight.
