Dennis L asks:
When Man ceases to worship God he does not worship nothing but worships everything. What is the correct quote and where (which GKC work) does it come from?
The Quotemeister responds. You'll be surprised, I think.

Posted by: Carl at August 4, 2005 09:47 PMGlory and amen! THAT's my beef with so many of my "spiritual", "post-modern" friends - not that they HAVE spirituality, nor that they ARE postmodern (hooray Derrida!), but that they are cobbling together scraps of other people's philosophies into poor facsimiles of a faith. I find these efforts laudable and pitiful at the same time.
Interestingly, this is the criticism I hear most often of Wicca - that it is no kind of "restoration" or recapturing but a neo-thing (and held a foolish thing by these critics) unto itself. An epidemic, perhaps.
