Orthodox and Protestant/Em Church Worship

If you haven't heard Come Receive the Light's program from Saturday "What roles does Preaching play in the Orthodox Church?" (Requires Real Player), then you need to click on over and listen.

Especially if you come from the Restoration Movement churches and have heard Terry Mattingly or had him as a professor when he was teaching at Milligan College (and their sister graduate studies institution Emmanuel School of Religion), or attended the North American Christian Convention this year or in previous years.

Terry and fellow guest commentator, Chuck Powell, join Fr. Christopher Metropulos to discuss modern worship in the Protestant churches (traditionally oriented around the printed word) and the Em churches (orienting themselves around experience and cafeteria style tradition). The discussion starts at about 9:36. Preceeding it is an interesting and informative piece on St. Nicholas of Myra.

I have Mr. Mattingly as my professor right now at Palm Beach Atlantic University and he is probably one of the best teachers I have ever had. In fact I am supposed to be studying for his final exam tomorrow!
