Rather Disappointing News: Update on Delane

Vespers tonight at All Saints Orthodox Church and listening to Rachmaninov's "Divine Liturgy" has been helpful. This has been a long couple of days.

The doctors were not able to accomplish much in their operation on Delane. Half their time was spent just in cutting through the scar tissue covering his organs (as a result of the acute hemhorragic pancreatitis he suffered almost two years ago), and which same scar tissue had effectivaly "cemented" most of his organs together. The most they could do was sew up some holes in some of his organs. They were unable to fix the hole in his bile duct. And the hope that he may be able to ingest food by mouth, while strong, is not certain. He is younger than I am, with a newborn boy, and another daughter and son. God have mercy.
