After given the chance to attend the mayoral debates live and in person last night I jumped at the chance. Quickly into the personal introductions given by the candidates you could start to get an idea of who was running and for what reasons. Throughout the debate I got the feeling that Johnson was leaning very heavily on the County palette, as his relationship with Mayor Ramsey and Congressmen Wamp would suggest. I really thought that Littlefield was going to come out a little stronger, and maybe even have a few issues to talk about, but it seemed that he was amazingly weak. Although he did finish stronger then he started.
The two people that I was most impressed with were Karl Epperson and Ann Coulter. Ann showed great poise and answered with extremely logical thinking and passion. While Karl was also very poised, I don't believe that he has a enough name recognition to really make a dent in the race. I believe that he would make a great City Councilman however.
I know that come next week I'll be casting my vote for Ann Coulter.
