Charles Marsh At Covenant College

In observance of Martin Luther King Day, Covenant College is pleased to
present Dr. Charles Marsh, Professor of Religion at the University of
Virginia
.

He is author of God's Long Summer: Stories of Faith and the Civil Rights Movement, which looks at the religious impetus for the Civil Rights Movement, as well as a personal memoir of growing up white, conservative, and Christian in the 1960s South called Last Days.

He has authored most recently The Beloved Community: How Faith Shapes Social Justice, From the Civil Rights Movement to Today. He is also director of the Lived Theology Project, which has been described as a theology "think tank" that hosts conferences and publish volumes that explore the intersection between Christian theology and everyday human experience. Marsh will be speaking Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

"Dr. King's Kitchen and the Call to Public Discipleship"
