I Am Qualified to Satisfy Your Love

Any day there's new Johnny Cash goodies to be heard is a good day. Any day they release 5 CD's of nearly all new Johnny Cash is, well, Christmas. I'm really looking forward to his cover of Neil Young's "Pocahontas."

For Thanksgiving April n' I are crusing out to Flippin, Arkansas. If there's a middle of nowhere dead smack in the middle of the United States, Flippin arguably holds that title. I have a pair of Aunts n' Uncles who live out there. They moved from Chicago where they lived all their lives. Why Flippin? Something about the fishing is the best answer we've ever gotten out of them. My Dad is flying out to hang for a couple days. Everytime there's a meeting of me, my Dad, and my two Aunts (they're on his side) it's a gauranteed crazy Roe time with lots of card playing (cribbage & pinochle are games of choice) & grain alchohol.

On a side note: everyone should spend some time in a middle-America town like Flippin. It's surreal. The entire town turns out on pay-day (nearly everyone is employed at Ranger Boats) and meets up at the local Wal-Mart. It's jam packed. You'd think it were Christmas. What matters is that you be there, and spend at least a couple hours there not shopping, but socializing. In Flippin, Arkansas Wal-Mart is the bright, warm, fuzzy community centere where you can get cat litter & duct tape at three in the morning.

For those of you out there planning on buying me Christmas presents, may I suggest a Game Boy Advance with Final Fantasy Tactics Advance? May I also suggest the Band of Brothers DVD set? Finally, may I suggest a 802.11g Wireless Router? April would like pretty earrings.

Also, rumor has it my buddy John's wife Genia was supposed to give birth to their new baby girl yesterday. I haven't heard from him. If any of you have, let us know.

2nite is Nudge's b-day party at Durty Nelly's. I will be drinking Guiness.

Band of Brothers is the pride of my DVD collection. . .that and my soon to be increasing collection of Extended Edition Lord of the Rings DVDs.
