So Many Things
Some of you may have heard, but April got the job at the horse farm place. She'll be learning all sorts of cool stuff and probably be giving lessons eventually. She is very happy.
Yes, today is Canada Day. I'm not entirely sure what this means we're supposed to celebrate? Bad Beer? Mike Meyers? Peter Jennings? Saying "aboot"?
Now I have some Canadian friends, but please don't think that this means I let them off easy. Oh no. They pay for their blemished heritage, especially the dutch ones. I mean c'mon, this is the freaking country that still has an entire province that speaks french! And they even have an attitude about it!
Look, I was in Canada on my honeymoon. I went through parts of Acadia where they still speak french up there. I mean, these people named their baseball team the "Expos" and make you buy gasonline in litres, and don't give me that crap about the metric system being better. You live right next door to the richest most powerful country on the planet, and you make us buy gasoline in some weird amounts that when you do the math, cost twice as much as it would if you were in the states!
Alright, here's another thing. Did you know that the Queen of England is still the official Canadian Head of State? That's why you still see her limey face all over the Canadian money! Talk about an identity crisis. You got large parts of your population speaking french, and you pledge allegiance to a figurhead monarch on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean!
In Canada's favor though. Vacouver is a beautiful city, and so was Prince Edward Island. Yes, the entire country has an amazing amount of natural beauty, but it's not like it's something you can't find somewhere in the states, or in Alaska anyway.
I found a site for everyone that they can enjoy. The official "Canada Sucks" website.
I'm from California...more or less. I'd like to point out that California has an economy three times the size of Canada's, and has produced 65 nobel prize winners, while Canada has only produced 16. California also has better wine than Canada. I could go on and on. All this stuff can be found on the official Canada Sucks website.

Canadians I have known and loved:
1. Rob MacDougall. My freshman year roommate. Collected mushrooms and freshman girls. Spent a good deal of time in the woods, for both reasons.
2. Andrew Stewart. "Baby Stew" would smoke anything. Now he does graphic design. Kind of a letdown, really.
3. Julian Wierenga. My closest Canadian friend. Raises emus. Builds grain bins. Mopes. Generally hates Canada and loves Jews. Pursues only the prettiest girls, and then only with great external urging. My kind of guy.

Watch SCTV. They're all Canadian. And they're funny.

At last blush Canada had not acknowledged that it is offically bankrupt. Now as to California...

That's Gray Davis' fault. I didn't vote for him when he ran for governor. Don't worry, he wont make it a second term.

Yes, it is cajun French, but it is still French...I can understand it. You can hear it on the radio sometimes.

Btw. Congratulations to April on the new job!

Davis is already in his second term so he can't be elected again anyway.
