the law and order i just watched has severly disturbed me. it was about spyware. a woman died because of it. a rapist tracked her down using it. my computer was so overrun with spyware that no amount of antispyware programs could get rid of it all, and i had to redo my whole computer, start from the beginning. these people can find out anything about you, and there is no law against it, just so we can be protected (though i'm not exactly sure how) from "terrorists." this all just brings out the hippie in me, i just want to go back to no computers, no tv, no problems. i just cannot comprehend anything right now...i'm so disturbed.

Now, I'm not saying that someone is going to track you down and kill you using the POWER OF TEH SPYWARES, that particular Law and Order was sensationalistic to the max. What I am saying is that your machine will run better, faster, and more securely with a few simple routine things that anyone can do.
The number one thing I tell everyone to do is to download and use Firefox. It cuts down on the amount of spyware you get dramatically. The second thing you should do is keep your browser up to date. those two things alone will make your computer very very happy.
aye, i downloaded firefox but twas too late! the evil spyware devils had already gotten too deep into my computer. i still had to kill it...poor lappy. we're having trouble bringing it back to life seeing how i've somehow lost my recovery disc. but as soon as we've got it running believe me i'll be using firefox, i'm on it now on my mom's computer. and if my computer were as old as my car, i would have given up a long time ago, it's a wonder my car still works, being 31 years old and all. course, my fiance's car is 40 and doing fine as well. thank you for your concern, and for reading. :)
