Here are some photos of a buddy's home theater setup, complete with re-upholstered seats from the old Northgate Crossing Theater:
The setup includes 8 seats bolted to a two-level riser setup that is set on 64 tiny casters. The thing is a behemoth and probably would be a pain to move someday, but the sweet, sweet feeling of sitting in a theater seat in your own house.. ahh! Just spill some popcorn and coke all around and invite friend's with annoying cell phone ringtones and it's like you're really there!
The tech involved is just a screen, mounted projector and DVD with progressive scan component output. He used to run Media Center 2005 to it, but I can see where MCE's compression would be depressing blown up to that size.
So our hats are off to you Mr. Home Theater with tiered theater seats creator!
