LASIK surgery this week went very well. Went in Thursday at 11:00 with years of throbbing headaches from glasses pressure above my ears and painful heaaches from dry eyes due to contacts, and left with near perfect vision. Actually as I left I had blurry vision as the corneal flap they created hadn't completely reattached, but I took a nap and woke up later that day and woke up with 20/20.
You can see in my right eye some red dots where I got a little jumpy on the second eye. They don't really tell you what the actual experience of the procedure is going to be like. One website says, "The laser uses a cool ultraviolet light beam to precisely remove very tiny bits of tissue from the cornea to reshape it." I'm thinking something more like a corss between A Clockwork Orange and Shock the Monkey. But its only for a couple minutes to do the whole thing and if the smell of burning eye flesh and cutting your cornea with a cigar cutter doesn't bother you, then you're all set.
At my post op visit yesterday I was reading 20/20 in my left eye and 20/10 in the left. The overall experience is very worth it and for anybody interested you can get a good deal from Truvision if you are covered by BlueCross.
Maybe next an eyebrow wax?
